The project involved the preparation and presentation
of a paper on the institutional support which is necessary to underpin the
design and implementation of effective monetary policies in the context of
small island economies as in the case of the Pacific island countries. The
presentation covered the areas including:
- Linkages between fiscal and monetary policy institutions
- Governance and management of Monetary authorities/central banks
- The performance of financial institutions
- Regional cooperation possibilities
