Detailed Narrative Description of Project:

A decision was made at the 10th SPREP Meeting to extend the period of the SPREP Corporate plan  to cover four year periods to be identical to the Action Plan timeframe.  In developing the the Corporate Plan, the Secretariat saw the importance and benefits of utilising information and materials collected and obtained during the Action Plan consultative process, hence, the principal objective of this consultancy was to develop and produce a new Corporate Plan 2001-2004 for the SPREP Secretariat based on the proposed Action Plan 2001-2004.  

Detailed Description of Actual Services provided by your Company:

  • Translating proposed Action Plan into a set of clear objectives, outcomes and outputs for Secretariat for next four years
    Review of the Secretariat as an organisation-by clearly defining WHAT is the business of the organisation and determining WHAT are the long term major goals, outcomes of the organisation.  Identify also some broad directions for achieving these goals
  • Review and identify the Secretariat's "core" business/functions and priority areas of focus in the delivery and the implementation of the new Action Plan
  • Review of the "environment" that the secretariat operates in
  • Identification of those that are "core" functions and those related to related to project delivery
  • Identification of any constraints and opportunities that require specific attention by the Secretariat
  • Defining the Vision and Mission statements
  • Defining of the Outcomes and outputs and performance measurements
  • Identifying clearly the means of monitoring and evaluating performance
  • Review the current organisation structure and make recommendations for an appropriate structure that would support the implementation of the Corporate and Action Plans
